Professor CHEN Wei is currently a Provost's Chair Professor in both the Chemistry Department and Physics Department at the National University of Singapore (NUS), and the Vice Dean for Research in Faculty of Science, NUS. He received his Bachelor degree in Chemistry from Nanjing University (China) in 2001 and his PhD degree from the Chemistry Department at NUS in 2004. His current research interests include molecular-scale interface engineering for 2D materials based electronics and optoelectronics, and interface-controlled nanocatalysis for energy and environmental research. Prof. Chen is a recipient of Singapore Young Scientist Award (2012), Mitsui Chemicals-SNIC Industry Award (2020), NRF Investigatorship (2023), and the Provost's Chair Professor (2023).

Professor Jon Cooper, FREng, FRSE, holds The Wolfson Chair in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Glasgow and a Royal Academy of Engineering Research Chair. His major research interests are in medical diagnostics and imaging, with a track record of spin-out and translation into industry and clinical practice. Recent work has been published in Nater Water, Nature Electronics, PNAS, Advanced Science and Nature Communications. He has worked extensively in East Africa developing new low-cost diagnostics and their integration through mobile communications into national and regional electronic records systems. He currently sits on the Chinese Academy of Sciences Innovation Cooperation Centre International Advisory Board and is a Visiting Professor both at The University of Oxford's OSCAR, China and at The School of Medical Science and Technology, IIT Kharagpur. He has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering (UK's national academy of engineering) as well as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (Scotland's National Academy).

Jinlong Gong received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Tianjin University and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Texas at Austin (with C. B. Mullins), all in chemical engineering. He was a visiting scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and a postdoctoral fellow with Professor George M. Whitesides at Harvard University. He joined the faculty of the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology at Tianjin University in 2010, where he currently holds a Pei Yang Distinguished Professorship. Professor Gong was a Vice President of Tianjin University (2019-2024) and now is the President of Tianjin Normal University. He is an elected fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (CIESC), and Chinese Chemical Society (CCS). Professor Gong is an elected foreign member of Academia Europaea and international fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering.

Dr. Zijian Guo is a professor at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the director of the Chemistry and Biomedicine Innovation Center of Nanjing University. His research focuses on the chemical biology of metals and metallodrugs including the metal-based anticancer complexes and their targeted delivery, the fluorescent sensors for bio-metals, and the role of metals in immunology. He serves as the editor-in-chief of Chemical & Biomedical Imaging, a new journal jointed launched by the American Chemical Society and Nanjing University. He was the winner of the Luigi Sacconi Medal of Italian Chemical Society in 2016 and the Outstanding Achievement Award of Asian Society of Biological Inorganic Chemistry in 2020. He is a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and a fellow of the Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS).

Dr. Shizhang Qiao is a Chair Professor at the University of Adelaide, Australia. His research expertise lies in nanostructured materials for electrocatalysis, batteries, and other energy technologies. He has co-authored 600 papers in refereed journals with 152,600 citation times and an h-index of 200. In recognition of his research achievements, Dr. Qiao has been awarded several prestigious awards, including inaugural ARC Industry Laureate Fellow, the South Australian Scientist of the Year (2021), ARC Australian Laureate Fellow, ExxonMobil Award, and ARC Discovery Outstanding Researcher Award (DORA) among others. He is an elected Fellow of Australian Academy of Science (FAA) and Australian Academy of Technological Sciences & Engineering (FTSE), a Fellow of the International Institute of Chemical Engineers (FIChemE), and the Royal Chemical Society (FRSC). Dr. Qiao is the Editor-in-Chief of EES Catalysis (RSC) and also recognized as a Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher in two categories (Chemistry, Materials Science).

Weitz received his PhD in physics from Harvard University and then joined Exxon Research and Engineering Company, where he worked for nearly 18 years.  He then became a professor of physics at the University of Pennsylvania and moved to Harvard at the end of the last millennium as professor of physics and applied physics.  He leads a group studying soft matter science with a focus on materials science, biophysics and microfluidics.   Several startup companies have come from his lab to commercialize research concepts.  He is a foreign collaborator at the InnoHK Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Center.

Prof. Suojiang Zhang, Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and President of Henan University. His research interests focus on green chemical engineering, new energy, and materials, where he has made significant strides in developing several green media-enhanced reaction/separation technologies, breaking through major challenges in ionic liquids design, process innovation, and system integration, and realizing the industrial application of over ten green technologies. Prof. Zhang has won numerous academic awards for his contributions, including the Second Class Prize of the State Natural Science Award, the Second Class Prize of the State Technological Innovation Award, the TWAS-Award in Chemistry, and the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Science and Technology Progress Award, etc., acknowledging his impact in both national and international scientific communities.

Weihong Zhu is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a professor at East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST), China. He is serving as the vice-president of ECUST and the director of Institute of Fine Chemicals. He received his BS from Nanjing Normal University in 1992, MS from Nankai University in 1995 and PhD from ECUST in 1999. He worked in National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) as postdoctoral fellow from 2001 to 2003. He was a visiting professor in University of Tsukuba from 2004 to 2005 and became a full professor in 2004. His current research interests are focused on photosensitive chemical products engineering. He has published more than 380 papers with H-index of 91, and received several awards, such as NSFC for Distinguished Young Scholars (2013) and Cheung Kong Distinguished Professor by the Education Ministry of China (2015), two Second Class Prizes of National Natural Science Award, two First Class Prizes of Shanghai Natural Science Award and one First Class Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award.

Prof Brabec is a leading materials scientist in organic, hybrid and perovskite photovoltaics and solution-processed semiconductors. Since 2009 he has held the Chair of Materials for Electronics and Energy Technology at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg and serves as Director at Helmholtz Institute Erlangen-Nürnberg and has served as both Scientific Director and Head of Board at ZAE Bayern. His research spans device physics, morphology control, high-throughput discovery and in-line imaging for quality control, and he has been recognised multiple times among Highly Cited Researchers. Brabec previously held senior industrial roles at Konarka and collaborates widely across European energy-materials programmes, advancing scalable, stable photovoltaic technologies for deployment.

Dr. Gao received his Ph.D. degree in chemistry from Indiana University-Bloomington (2004), and his postdoctoral training from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. He is a full professor in the Department of Bioengineering. His research is focused on biomedical nanotechnology, molecular engineering, and molecular imaging. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award, an elected fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE, class of 2013), and the Associate Editor of Bioconjugate Chemistry.

Shaojun GUO is a Boya Distinguished Professor in Peking University, Fellow of the Chinese Chemical Society and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. He is renowned for his outstanding contribution to the interdisciplinary fields of materials chemistry for energy electrocatalysis. He has published more than 300 papers in top journals as corresponding author, including 52 in Nature, Science and Nature/Science/Cell sister journals (h-index=159 and 89,000 citations). He is one of Highly Cited Researchers from 2014 to 2024, and World Top 2% Scientist from Stanford University (Ranking: 2000). His selected awards/honors include Xplorer Prize, National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, China Youth Science and Technology Prize, Elsevier Chinese Most Cited Researcher, etc. He is serving as (advisory) board members of Acc. Prof. Xiaojun Han is the head of chemistry department in Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), awardees of National High-level Talents and New Century Excellent Talents. He received his B.S. degree from Jilin University in 1998, and Ph.D. degree from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003. After that he immediately joined University of Leeds as a research fellow. He also worked for Paul Scherrer Institute for a short period. He returned to China as a full professor at HIT in 2009. His current research interests are artificial cells/tissues, cancer diagnostic, and drug delivery. He is the principal investigator of more than 30 fundings. He has published more than 230 papers in peer-reviewed journals including Nat. Commun., J. Am. Chem. Soc. etc. He also wrote one book as the sole author and four book chapters. 43 national invention patents have been authorized.

Chaoliang He is a professor at Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his bachelor's degree in Applied Chemistry from East China University of Science and Technology in 2001, and obtained his Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry and Physics from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry in 2007. From 2007 to 2010, he conducted postdoctoral research at Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea and University of Ottawa, Canada. Since September 2010, he has been working at Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry. His research focuses on the development of stimuli-responsive, bioactive and immunomodulatory polymer hydrogels, as well as hydrogel adhesives. He has co-authored over 100 research papers in academic journals including Science Advances, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, National Science Review, Advanced Functional Materials, ACS Nano, and Biomaterials. His papers have received total citations over 10000. He has been granted 1 US patent, 1 European patent and over 20 Chinese invention patents.

Professor Huang received his Ph.D. degree from Nankai University in 1991. After doing two years postdoc research at Nanjing University, he became an Associate Professor at Nanjing University. Prior to re-joining Nanjing University as Full Professor in 2005, Dr. Huang worked as KCWong Fellow at Sussex University in 1996 with Professor Sir Harold Kroto, Senior Research Scientist in CSIRO from 1997-2002 and Duke University from 2002-2005. Currently, he is a Distinguished Professor in the University of Chinese Academy of Science, Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study. His research is focused on synthesis of low-dimensional functional materials and their device Applications. Dr. Huang has published more than 535 peer-reviewed papers since 1999 including Nat. Nanotech., Nat. Mater., Nat. Commun., Adv. Mater., JACS, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., PRL etc. with H-index of 85 and over 30000 SCI citations.

Xiaobo Ji is awarded National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2023) and "Sheng hua" Professor, and acts as associate dean in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Central South University. He received Dphil at University of Oxford, and undertook post-doctor work at MIT. His research specializes in studying & developing critical materials for energy storage systems. Xiaobo Ji is Associate Editor for Battery Energy, Wiley. He has published over 500 peer-reviewed papers with an h-index of 119 and has received numerous awards including "IALB Research Award" (2024), Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers (2023, 2022, 2021), third National Science and Technology Award for outstanding young people in nonferrous metals of China (2018), Young Yangtze scholars, China Ministry of education (2017), National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars (2016), Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (2014).

Jiang Jun, Chair Professor at the University of Science and Technology of China. In 2011, He was honorably selected for the first batch of the Youth Program under the National Major Talent Project. In 2013, he was appointed Chief Scientist of the 973 Program, receiving an exemplary evaluation upon its completion. In 2020, he received the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars Program, and in 2021, he was named the core leader of the Youth Team of AI-Chemist at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Professor Jiang has been deeply involved in theoretical and intelligent chemistry research. Dr. Leo Hwa Liang is with the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the National University of Singapore. Dr. Leo directs the Biofluid Mechanics Research Laboratory, where his research integrates biofluid mechanics with medical device development. His work focuses on cardiovascular applications, including the design of novel heart valve prostheses and vascular stents for percutaneous implantation, fluid mechanical assessment of cardiovascular devices, and investigation of hemodynamic origins of cardiovascular diseases. He also specializes in developing bioreactors and in vitro systems for drug screening and toxicological testing, employing computational fluid dynamics simulations and experimental methods for characterizing and optimizing cell culturing systems. Dr. Leo is a Fellow of IUPESM and has received numerous awards, including the IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award (2021) and multiple teaching excellence recognitions. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and holds several patents in cardiovascular device technology.

Prof. Kenneth Lo is a Chair Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at City University of Hong Kong, specializing in luminescent inorganic and organometallic transition metal complexes for biomolecular and cellular applications. His research includes developing intracellular sensors, photoactive labels, bioimaging reagents, and photocytotoxic agents. He has received prestigious awards, including the APA Prize for Young Scientist (2005), the Distinguished Lectureship Award from the Chemical Society of Japan (2011), the Hans Freeman Lectureship from the University of Sydney (2024), and the Elsevier Lectureship Award from the Japanese Photochemistry Association (2025). Ning Li is a full professor at South China University of Technology. He has long been engaged in the development of cutting-edge materials genome engineering technologies to accelerate the R&D of advanced optoelectronic materials and devices, and has achieved a series of research results in high-throughput experiments, artificial intelligence, and data-driven research methods. He has published over 200 papers in international academic journals with over 18,000 citations and an H-index of 78. Professor Huiyu Liu is affiliated with the School of Life Science and Technology at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, serving as a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, and she is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, and the Newton Advanced Fellowship. Prof Marzari is a leading figure in first-principles simulations and computational materials science. He holds the Chair of Theory and Simulation of Materials at EPFL, directs the Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) MARVEL, and heads the Laboratory for Materials Simulations at the Paul Scherrer Institut. From September 2025 he is the new Cavendish Professor of Physics at the University of Cambridge. His research is dedicated to the development and application of electronic-structure methods to understand, predict, and design novel materials. A former faculty member at MIT and the University of Oxford, he leads large-scale Swiss and international collaborations, with alumni now in leading academic and industrial posts worldwide.

Dr Miéville oversees the West Hub of Swiss CAT+, EPFL's data-centred infrastructure for high-throughput experimentation and catalysis discovery. Trained in chemistry and NMR spectroscopy (including dynamic nuclear polarisation), he previously led EPFL's NMR platform, where he advanced automation and digital data structuring for chemical research. His career spans roles bridging academia and industry, with interests in laboratory automation, FAIR data and accelerating discovery workflows. He also holds an MPA from the University of Lausanne. At CAT+, he coordinates partnerships and technology platforms that integrate robotics, analytics and data science to deliver reproducible, scalable catalysis research for academic and industrial users.

Zhou Nie is currently a professor at College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Hunan University, China. His research focuses on the development of new chemical-biological tools for genetically encoded RNA imaging and receptor-dependent cellular behavior regulations. He has published 120 peer-reviewed papers as correspondence author in high-impact journals such as Nature Chem. Biol., Nature Commun., Science Advances, J. Am. Chem. Soc., and Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. Prof Shyue Ping Ong is a Singaporean materials scientist and professor in the Aiiso Yufeng Li Family Department of Chemical and Nano Engineering at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He leads the Materials Virtual Lab, a materials informatics research group focused on the integration of materials science with data science and artificial intelligence to accelerate the discovery and design of novel materials. He is especially known as one of the pioneers of foundation potentials. Prof Ong is also the founder and lead developer of pymatgen, a widely used open-source library for materials analysis, and a core contributor to the Materials Project, a public platform that provides computed properties of tens of thousands of inorganic compounds. Ong earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2011. He has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications spanning topics. He is also a recipient of the prestigious US Department of Energy Early Career Research Program and the Office of Naval Research Young Investigator Program awards and a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher since 2021.

Dr. Pu is a President's Chair Professor in Biomedical Engineering in School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at Nanyang Technological University. He is the Executive Editor for the Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS), a fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE), a Singapore National Research Foundation (NRF) Investigator, and a highly cited researcher listed by Web of Science. Dr. Shen is an ARC DECRA fellow and senior lecturer in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Sydney, since 2020. She works in the field of protein biophysics, soft materials and microfluidics. Prior to this position, she was a postdoc working on protein liquid-liquid phase separation with Prof. Tuomas Knowles in the Chemistry Department, Centre for Misfolding Diseases at the University of Cambridge. She completed her PhD in 2017, focusing on the development of biomaterials from protein self-assembly with Prof. Raffaele Mezzenga at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. Before her PhD, she studied microfluidics with Prof. Howard Stone at Princeton University in the US.

Prof. Xinyong Tao is the president of the Academy of Science & Technology in Zhejiang University of Technology. He is an esteemed academic who earned his PhD from Zhejiang University and has extensive experience as a postdoctoral fellow and visiting scholar at the University of South Carolina and Stanford University, respectively. His research interest focuses on the fundamental theory and practical applications of advanced materials for next-generation high specific energy lithium secondary batteries. In recognition of his contributions, Professor Tao was awarded the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2022. Jun Wang, PHD，Professor of South China University of Technology, Doctoral supervisor, NSFC Distinguished Young Scholar and Chief Scientist of National Key R&D Program of China (Nano Special). Tianfu Wang is a professor in the School of Environmental Science and Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He obtained his B.S. from Dalian University of Technology and Ph.D. from Iowa State University. His research interest includes the use of combined chemical and biological technologies for the utilization of organic waste and CO2 to produce fuels and chemicals. His research has resulted in publications including Nat. Sus., JACS, Angew Chemie, Nat. Comm., AM et al.

Xiaonan Wang is a tenured associate professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and the associate dean of Office of International Affairs at Tsinghua University. She received B.Eng. from Tsinghua University in 2011 and PhD from University of California, Davis in 2015. After working as a postdoctoral research associate at Imperial College London, she joined the National University of Singapore (NUS) as an assistant professor since 2017 and later became an adjunct associate professor. She is leading a Smart Systems Engineering research group at NUS and Tsinghua and also the director of the Intelligent Chemical Engineering Research Centre. She has published more than 180 peer-reviewed papers and 3 book chapters, with > 13,000 citations and H index 67. She is an associate editor of Applied Energy, npj Thermal Science and Engineering etc. and editorial board member of Green Chemistry, Chem Commun etc. She has been recognized as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher, World's Top 2% Scientists and Young Beijing Scholar. Zhaochao Xu received his PhD in 2006 from the Dalian University of Technology under the supervision of Prof. Xuhong Qian. Subsequently, he joined Prof. Juyoung Yoon's group at Ewha Womans University as a postdoctoral researcher. Since October 2008, he was a Herchel Smith Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge in Prof. David R. Spring's group. In 2011, he moved to the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, CAS, where he is currently a Professor. His research is focusing on the development of fluorescent probes for super-resolution fluorescent imaging.

Professor and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Molecular Science, Shanxi University, director of the Institute, director of the Key Laboratory of Chemical Biology and Molecular Engineering of the Ministry of Education at Shanxi University, and vice dean of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Shanxi University. Dr. Jian Yin, Full professor and Dean of School of Biotechnology at Jiangnan University, Wuxi, China. He is the recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, China. In addition, He is the founding member, vice-chairman and secretary general of the Carbohydrate-based Vaccines Committee in China Association for Vaccines. His research focuses on the field of Biopharmaceutical, chemical engineering and carbohydrate-based vaccine engineering. Recently, he has published more than 60 peer-reviewed papers as corresponding author in J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Sci. Adv. etc. He currently is serving as editorial board members of more than ten renowned journals. He has received several awards including "National Teaching Achievement Award (Second Prize)", "T. Dr. YE Yin is a Senior Editor of Nature Sustainability. He primarily handles research and opinion papers from the broad areas of environmental science and engineering, including recycling of resources, waste valorization, pollution control, and other processes/reactions for environmental applications. Yin obtained his MSc and PhD in environmental technology from Wageningen University. Before joining the Nature family, Yin worked in industry as a senior technology management engineer and later in academia as an associate professor at Northwestern Polytechnical University in China.

Prof. Qiang Zhang is a professor at Tsinghua University. He held the Newton Advanced Fellowship from Royal Society, UK and the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He is the dean of Department of Chemical Engineering, Tsinghua University. He is selected as highly cited researchers at 2017-2024 by Clarivate Analytics. His current research interests are advanced energy materials and energy chemistry, including dendrite-free lithium metal anode, lithium sulfur batteries, and electrolyte, especially the structure design and full demonstration of advanced energy materials in working devices. His h-index is 172 now. He is the Associate Editor of JACS. He is sitting on the advisory board of Joule, Chem Soc Rev, J Energy Chem, Matter, Adv Energy Mater, Adv Funct Mater, ChemSusChem, J Mater Chem A, Chem Commun, Energy & Fuels, and so on. He is the deputy head of the expert group on energy storage and smart grid of the national key research and development plan. Zhi-Jian Zhao received his BS(2006) and MS(2008) from Zhejiang University and PhD(2012) from Technical University of Munich. From 2013 to 2015, he conducted postdoctoral research successively at Purdue University and at Stanford University. He is currently a Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Tianjin University, a Cheung Kong Scholar Distinguished Professor appointed by the Ministry of Education, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education's International Joint Laboratory for Low-Carbon Energy Chemical Engineering, and Deputy Director of the Tianjin International Joint Research Center for Energy Chemical Engineering. His primary research focuses on the rational design of catalysts guided by artificial intelligence. By developing novel computational methods assisted by AI, he screens potential catalysts with high activity and selectivity, followed by experimental synthesis to validate the screening results.

Dr. Peichen Zhong is an Assistant Professor under the NUS Presidential Young Professorship at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, National University of Singapore. He obtained a BS in Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2018, followed by a PhD in Materials Science from UC Berkeley in 2023. He then completed the postdoctoral work at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and Bakar Institute of Digital Materials for the Planet (BIDMaP). As a computational materials scientist, he is interested in (1) computational modeling of complex materials for renewable energy applications; (2) atomistic simulations with statistical mechanics & first-principles calculations; (3) AI for Science: machine learning interatomic potentials and generative models in scientific applications.

Prof. Chia-Hung Chen is a leading expert in microfluidic biosensors and an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at City University of Hong Kong. Recognized by Stanford University as a top 2% most-cited scientist, he earned his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge and completed postdoctoral training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research specializes in soft systems and high-throughput microfluidic technologies for probing cellular heterogeneity in human health and disease. Prof. Chen develops innovative analytical and diagnostic platforms that transform how complex diseases—such as cancer, infectious diseases, and autoimmune disorders—are detected and treated, advancing the frontiers of precision medicine. He has published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals, including Nature Communications, Science Advances, Advanced Materials, ACS Nano, and Analytical Chemistry. As a principal investigator, he has secured over 25 international competitive research grants. He also serves on the editorial boards of Biomicrofluidics and IEEE journals. His work spans microfluidic systems, soft bio-interfaces, and single-cell micro/nano-technologies, driving impactful advancements in biomedical engineering and translational research.

Ting-Hsuan Chen received his B.S. degree (2003) and M.S. degree (2005) in National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, and obtained his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering at University of California, Los Angeles (2012). He is currently an Associate Professor in Biomedical Engineering at City University of Hong Kong. Dr. Chen has been spearheading projects leveraging the micro/nanotechnology for biomedical applications. Using micropatterning to study the pattern formation of mammalian cells, he has made a fundamental discovery of cell’s intrinsic left-right bias and successfully exploited this finding to engineer patterns of microtissue. More recently, he has pioneered in combining microparticles in microfluidics for visual quantification of target molecules such as metal ions for intoxication or protein biomarkers for point-of-care applications. The research achievement has led to establishment of Cimple Biotechnology, which has been awarded with HK Tech 300 Angel Fund, the Incu-Bio Programme of Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, and secured Technology Start-up Support Scheme for Universities (TSSSU). Many of his achievement was featured as cover stories in prestigious journals such as Circulation Research and ACS Sensors or published in top-tier journals such as Science Advances, Advanced Science, ACS Nano, and Biomaterials. He has served on the organizing committee for several international IEEE conferences, including IEEE NEMS and IEEE NANOMED.

Zhijie Chen received his B.S. (2012) degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Ph.D. (2018) from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. He was a postdoctoral researcher at Northwestern University (2018-2021). He joined the Department of Chemistry at Zhejiang University as a ZJU100 Young Professor in 2022. His research interest is related to the synthesis and applications of functional porous frameworks. He has authored more than 100 papers including Science, Nature, Nat. Synth., Nat. Chem., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Chem, PNAS, Adv. Mater., CCS Chem., Chem. Rev, Chem. Soc. Rev. His accomplishments have been recognized by honors including MIT TR35 Asia Pacific, Materials Research Society Postdoctoral Award.

Dr Bee Luan Khoo is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at City University of Hong Kong. She earned her PhD at the National University of Singapore, focusing on tumour models for prognostic evaluation, and later advanced liquid biopsy technologies at Singapore-MIT Alliance of Research and Technology (SMART) through the development of integrated microfluidic platforms. Her current research integrates microfluidics, liquid biopsy, and artificial intelligence to develop biochips and diagnostic tools for real-time detection of circulating tumour cells, bacteria-infected cells, and other biomarkers. She has published over 79 peer-reviewed papers in leading journals, secured more than 11 patents, and received international invention awards for translational technologies. Recognized as an MIT Technology Review Innovator Under 35 Asia (2018), she also received the Young Investigator Award from Singapore’s NMRC and the Interstellar Initiative Award (2020). Beyond research, she earned CityU’s Outstanding Teaching Award for her mentorship and commitment to advancing biomedical engineering education.

Prof. Tiantian Kong is currently a professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Shenzhen University, China. As the first or corresponding author, she has published more than 100 papers in high-impact journals, including Nature Communications, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Advanced Materials, and Angewandte Chemie. She also serves as an Editorial Board Member or Guest Editor for high-impact journals such as Microengineering and Nanosystems (MINE), Green Energy Environment (GEE), and Small. In 2020, she received the "Young Scientist Award" at the Microsystem and Nanoengineering Summit. In 2022, she was recognized as an "Emerging Investigator" by Soft Matter (RSC) and subsequently received the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Award from the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (CIESC). In 2023, she received the "Excellent Young Scholar" award from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).

Prof. Kit Kwok is a Professor at City University of Hong Kong. He obtained his B.Sc. in Chemistry from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (2009), after an exchange at UCLA, and his PhD from Pennsylvania State University (2014). He completed a Croucher Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Cambridge. His research explores RNA structures and interactions, focusing on G-quadruplex functions in gene regulation, RNA metabolism, and diseases. His lab develops aptamer and peptide-based tools for detecting, imaging, and intervening in these structures, and creates innovative nucleic acid-based technologies for sensing pollutants and pathogens.

Prof. Kwok's contributions have been recognized with awards including NSFC Excellent Young Scientist Fund, RNA Society Early-Career Award, and RGC Research Fellowship. He was elected to the Hong Kong Young Academy of Science in 2022. He co-founded the Hong Kong RNA Club and serves as an RNA Society Asia RNA research ambassador.

Qi Liu is currently an associate professor in the Department of Physics, City University of Hong Kong. He obtained his PhD from Purdue University in 2014. Before joining CityUHK, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Argonne National Laboratory. His current research interests focus on the structure–property studies of functional materials via multiple neutron- and synchrotron-based techniques. His broader research activities include the design and synthesis of novel energy storage materials, phase transition mechanisms and neutron-/synchrotron physics. Up to now, Prof. Qi Liu has published 128 peer-reviewed journal papers including 14 Nature or Nature’s sister Journals such as Nature Energy and Nature Materials. Also, among all the published papers, the PI has 20 papers as first or corresponding authors in the elite journals (4 Nature Energy, 1 Nature Sustainability, 2 Nature Communications, 2 Advanced Materials, 1 Angewandte Chemie, and 2 Nano Letters). Prof. Qi LIU also has 12 patents filed in the US and China. Prof. LIU has been invited to deliver more than 50 talks at international conferences, workshops, symposiums, seminars and online webinars. He is the recipient of the President’s Award 2021 by CityU and the Rising Star Lecturer (Physics) by the Hong Kong Institute of Advanced Study. In 2019, he was elected as a Committee member of the Chinese Ceramic Society (1 of 2 Hong Kong representatives).

Yong Luo is a full professor in the department of Chemical Engineering, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, China. His research interests involve the fundamental and application of rotating packed bed for process intensification. Prof. Luo has published more than 180 peer reviewed journal papers. He was the winner of Youth Award of Hou Debang Science and Technology Award (2020), Young Researcher Award of 15th International Conference on Gas-Liquid and Gas-Liquid-Solid Reactor Engineering (GLS 15, 2022), Excellent Young Scientists Fund by NSFC (2021), and National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars by NSFC (2025). He was serviced as the Deputy Secretary-General of Chemical Process Intensification Division of Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (CIESC), the member of the International Scientific Committee of the Second/Third/Fourth International Conference on Chemical Process Intensification, and the member of the International Scientific Committee of the 27th International Symposium for Chemical Reaction Engineering.

Yudai Matsuda received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Tokyo in 2015 under the supervision of Professor Ikuro Abe. During this period, he also served as an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the University of Tokyo (2013–2015). He then worked as a Postdoc at the Technical University of Denmark with Professor Thomas O. Larsen (2015–2017), followed by a position as a Project Researcher at the University of Tokyo (2017–2018). In 2018, he joined the City University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2024. His research focuses on biosynthesis, genome mining-driven discovery, and biosynthetic engineering of fungal natural products.

Dr. Ji Qi is currently a professor at State Key Laboratory of Medicinal Chemical Biology, Nankai University. He received bachelor and Ph.D. degrees from Zhejiang University and Chinese Academy of Sciences, respectively. He conducted postdoctoral research at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Supervisor: Professor Ben Zhong Tang). Then he continued postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Supervisors: Professors Danile Kohane and Robert Langer). His current research focuses on the development of new organic molecular probes for biomedical applications, including high-resolution monitoring, multifunctional image-guided immunotherapy, and activatable theranostic systems. He has published more than 80 scientific papers in authoritative journals such as Nat. Biotechnol., Nat. Nanotechnol., Nat. Commun., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Adv. Mater., and Angew. Chem. etc. His papers have been cited over 5500 times, with an h-index of 41. He has been granted more than 10 U.S. and Chinese patents, with some of them already entering the commercialization phase.

Dr. Shi Junyou is a distinguished scholar leading innovations in biomass utilization. His groundbreaking development of formaldehyde-free biomass adhesives, which reduce energy consumption by 40% and VOC emissions to a mere 6% of national standards, was honored with the prestigious National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Class). His creation of high-performance, flame-retardant engineered wood, utilized in the Beijing Winter Olympics, earned him three First-Class Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards. Further pioneering work in breaking foreign monopolies on core manufacturing equipment received the Liangxi Forestry Technology Invention Award. These seminal contributions have secured him esteemed recognition as a National "Ten Thousand Talents Plan" Leader and a Fellow of the International Academy of Wood Science.

Dr. Peng Shi is a professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at City University of Hong Kong. He received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Wuhan University and a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University. After his postdoctoral training at MIT in Electrical Engineering and Biological Engineering, he joined CityU Hong Kong and has been a faculty member in the BME department since 2011. Dr. Shi works at the convergence between neuroscience and engineering by taking advantage of an interdisciplinary approach to solve important emerging problems in translational neuro-engineering, especially in the development of high-throughput technology and screening platform for discovery of novel therapeutic targets. His work has led to more than 100 publications in top-tier research journals, including Nature Reviews Materials, Nature BME, PNAS, Science Advances, Nature communications etc., and more than international patents and disclosures. Dr. Shi received the Simon’s research award in 2010, CityU President Award for research excellence in 2017, outstanding supervisor award in 2018 and 2019 at CityU, and a special recognition as Young Scholars by World Cultural Council in 2018. He co-founded ANRim Biotechnology Ltd.

Dan Wang is a professor at State Key Laboratory of Organic-Inorganic Composites and College of Chemical Engineering in Beijing University of Chemical Technology, China. He received a B.E. degree in materials science and engineering and a Ph.D. degree in optical engineering both from Zhejiang University in 2008 and 2013 respectively. He then joined Prof. Jian-Feng Chen’s group at Beijing University of Chemical Technology as a postdoctoral researcher. Dr Wang was appointed as an associate professor in 2015 and advanced to a full professor in 2020. He was also a visiting scholar at Harvard University (2019) and Case Western Reserve University (2013-2015). As a principal investigator in Research Center of the Ministry of Education for High Gravity Engineering and Technology, Dr. Wang specializes in nanomaterials and process intensification for multidisciplinary applications covering chemical engineering, optoelectronics technology and sustainable agriculture.

Jingxia Wang is a professor of Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Science (CAS). She received her PhD in Material Science from Tsinghua University in 2004. She conducted postdoctoral research in the Laboratory of Organic Solids at the Institute of Chemistry, CAS from 2004 to 2006. And she then stayed at the same institute and worked as an Assistant/associate professor from 2006-2014. In 2014, she joined the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry, CAS, where she worked as a professor and Ph D. Supervisor. Her main research focuses on the fabrication and applications of functional liquid crystal/photonic crystal materials, especially, the broad-temperature range polymer-stabilized blue-phase liquid crystals. She has published more than 150 papers on the SCI journals, such as, Nat.Commun., Adv. Mater., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Acc. Chem. Res., Chem. Soc. Rev. and etc. And She has applied and authorized Chinese Invention Patents of more than 50.

Prof. Steven Wang serves as the Associate Vice-President (Resources Planning) at City University of Hong Kong and is the Deputy Director of the Centre for Nature-inspired Engineering. He obtained his PhD from Monash University (Supervisor Prof David Boger, FRS) and his Bachelor of Engineering from The University of Melbourne. Before assuming his current position, he conducted postdoctoral research at ETH Zurich from 2015 to 2016 and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2015. Prof. Wang has published extensively in prestigious journals, including Nature, Nature Chemical Engineering, Nature Communications, Science Advances and Physical Review Fluids. His contributions to the field were recognized when he received the Research Project of the Year: STEM award at the Times Higher Education (THE) Awards Asia 2024.

Dr. Xiaohui Wang is a Professor of Chemical Biology at the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Director of the Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Frontier Chemistry. His research focuses on the chemical biology of psychoactive substances, including the mechanisms of classic drugs and psychedelics as tools for brain science, the molecular bases and remediation of addiction (vaccines and therapeutics), and translational applications to central nervous system (CNS) disorders. He has published 160+ papers in Nature, National Science Review, Accounts of Chemical Research, Molecular Psychiatry, and PNAS, with over 7,000 citations. His honors include the APSN Young Scientist Award, the Chinese Pharmacological Society–Servier Young Pharmacologist Award, and the Chinese Society of Toxicology Outstanding Young Scientist Award. He also serves as an editor of National Science Review.

Dr. Haihua Xiao completed his Ph. D. from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2012, and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Notre Dame and MIT. At the end of 2017, he joined the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences by participating in the "100 talent" program and serving as a supervisor in the State Key Laboratory of Polymer Physics and Polymer Chemistry. For more than 10 years, he has closely focused on the research topic of biomedical materials and biosafety materials, especially on the nano-materials with metal-based antitumor, antibacterial and antiviral compounds for drug delivery, gene therapy, precision medicine, etc. With over 200 publications in journals including Nat. He also serves as an expert reviewer for national programs and holds memberships in several professional committees.

Dr. Yan is a full professor at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou and a recipient of the National Ten Thousand Talent Award and the Hundred Talent Award. His group focuses on biomass valorization toward clean energy and value-added chemicals. He obtained his PhD from the Max-Planck-Institute for Coal Research and RWTH Aachen University, followed by postdoctoral studies at Lakehead University and Brown University. Dr. Yan has published over 130 SCI papers, including Nature research journals, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Energy Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., Appl. Catal. B, ACS Catal., and AIChE J., with 22 ESI highly cited papers and 9 Front Jounral Cover Articles. He holds over 20 patents and co-authored two books on biomass. His honors include the IAAM Medal Award, World's Top 2% Scientists list, First Prize of China Invention Association, Guangdong Youth Science Award, RSC Top 1% Highly Cited Scientist, and Chinese Chemical Society Young Innovator Award.

Dr. Erika Zhang is Managing Editor for the ACS materials portfolio journals at the American Chemical Society (ACS) Publications, based in Beijing. She oversees strategic content development and community engagement for more than 15 leading journals, including ACS Nano, Nano Letters, ACS Materials Letters, Chemistry of Materials, Langmuir, and the ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces portfolio.

With a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Peking University and postdoctoral research experience at the University of Chicago, Dr. Zhang's scientific background spans rare-earth nanomaterials and siRNA delivery systems. At ACS Publications, she has spearheaded initiatives to strengthen relationships with researchers in China, foster early-career researcher development, and expand the global impact of ACS journals. Her work focuses on bridging research and publishing to empower scientists and support the advancement of next-generation chemistry and materials innovation.

Dr. Heng Zhang received his Bachelor (2011) and PhD (2016) degree in School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST, China). Then, he joined CIC EnergiGUNE as a post-doc researcher (2016–2017) working with Prof. Michel Armand, and later he acted as the research line manager of polymer electrolyte at CIC EnergiGUNE (2018–2020). He is now a Full Professor of School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at HUST (2020–). Since 2024, he has been serving as a committee member of International Symposium on Polymer Electrolytes (ISPE). Dr. Zhang and his team mainly focus on the development of new fluorinated anions, ionic liquids and alkali metal salts, and their nonaqueous electrolyte materials, particularly solid polymer electrolytes, aiming to providing industrially viable solutions in anion design for better rechargeable batteries.
